Didn’t love it at first

Lyko haul (November 2024)

I have a rather large Lyko haul to share with you today. The haul mainly consists of a bunch of products from two limited edition collection from Catrice plus a few random products as well.

Let’s begin with the Catrice Mystic Forest collection. I purchased all three nail lacquers, two metallic liquid eyeshadow, the two cream blushes, and the two lipsticks.

The nail lacquers are in the shades C01 Enchanting Lights, C02 Falling Leaves, and C03 Woodland Magic, and they’re super pretty darker metallic or glittery shades.

I picked up the metallic liquid eyeshadows in C02 Falling Leaves and C03 Woodland Magic. I like that the metallic liquid eyeshadows and the nail lacquers came in corresponding shades.

The cream blushes are in the shades 010 Purple Touch and 020 Red Allure, and they might look really scary and dark in the pans, but they looked really nice on the cheeks.

Catrice tends to release mostly pinks, reds, and berries, when it comes to lipsticks, so I love that this collection included a black lipstick called C01 Deepest Secret and a deep red called C02 Dark Seduction.

Catrice also released a really pretty holiday collection in 2024 called Festive Treasures. I picked up the velvet headband, the two hydrating shine lipsticks, two of the Blush Drops, the multi-use palette, and one of the metallic eye pencils.

Here’s a closer look a the headband. It’s very festive indeed.

I really like the velvet packaging on the hydrating shine lipsticks, which came in more classic Catrice lipstick shades; a pink called C01 Merry Kissmas! and a berry called C02 Kissberry.

The Blush Drops came in three shades, but I just got two of them; C01 Merry Mauve! and C03 Chestnuts Roasting. I’ve already decluttered C01 Merry Mauve!, because I thought it looked a little patchy on the skin, and the packaging broke as well. The packaging has broken a little on the C03 Chestnuts Roasting shade as well, but I really like the colour, so I’ll keep it a little longer and see, if I get use out of it. If not, I’ll declutter that one too.

I was quite impressed by the multi-use palette in C01 All I Want Is Velvet. I wore most of the eyeshadows and both cream cheek products here.

This metallic eye pencil in C01 Mistlegreen is a very nice dark metallic green shade perfect for holiday make-up looks.

The last three products I picked up was the Catrice Pure Volume Magic Brown mascara in 010 Burgundy Brown, which I really like, the Rimmel Nail Care Nail Nurse 7-in-1, and the Lancôme C.E. Skin Transforming highlighter in 04 Halo Glow. I had recently bought another shade of the Lancôme C.E. Skin Transforming highlighter, and I really liked this white gold shade as well.

Neutral leaning rosy/berry tones

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m wearing the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership X: Moonlit Seduction eyeshadow palette, and I think the look turned out really pretty. I actually quite like these neutral leaning rosy/berry tones for a make-up look.

Underwhelming shimmers

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I bought a Viseart eyeshadow palette back in January (which I haven’t hauled yet), because I’d been curious to try one, and I liked the mattes, but the shimmers were very underwhelming.

(Base: primer – e.l.f Cosmetics Power Grip primer + 4% Niacinamide, foundation – Rare Beauty Positive Light tinted moisturizer (shade: 14W), concealers – Rare Beauty Positive Light under eye brightener (shade: Light) + Huda Beauty #FAUXFILTER Luminous Matte liquid concealer (shade: 1.3G Marshmellow), powders – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Tone Up in Rose + e.l.f. 5 favourites – April

As I wrote in my 5 favourites post from last month, I’m so ready for warmer weather, and we’ve had a handful of nice, sunny days, but not nearly as many as I was hoping for. I had a very nice Easter break, but I must admit, it’s been tough going back to work after the break. Hopefully, it’ll get easier again soon. Anyways, I’m really excited about this month’s favourites so let’s talk about them.

Patchwork coat (Stella Nova): I fell in love with this coat the first time I saw it, but it was quite expensive, so I didn’t buy it. However, I kept an eye out for it, and in March I found it on sale heavily discounted, so I went for it. I love it, and I’ve worn it so much.

Colourpop Pretty Fresh tinted foundation balm (shade: Fair 1): I’d heard such good things about this stick foundation, and it really is great. I’ve had a lot of early mornings this past month, and this has been my go-to most worn foundation; it’s just so quick and easy to apply, and it looks so good.

NYX Buttermelt highlighters: I love the NYX Buttermelt bronzer and blushes, so I was so excited to try the highlighters from the Buttermelt line, and they did not disappoint. I got the three most colourful shades, and they’re all so pretty.

MAC Glow Play Tendertalk lip balm (shade: Vibe): It’s not often that I include a lip product in a 5 favourites post, because I’ve got so many lip products and wear different ones all the time, but I’ve worn this MAC Glow Play Tendertalk lip balm in the shade Vibe so many times this past month, so I had to give it a shout out. I love the formula in general, but this particular colour is so lovely on the lips.

Sol de Janeiro Danca Mistica perfume mist: I was so excited to try this limited edition summer scent from Sol de Janeiro, because it has notes of fig, sandalwood, and vanilla. I think it might be my new favourite Sol de Janeiro scent.

Matas haul (November 2024)

I have a Matas haul to share with you today. The haul includes items purchased during the Singles Days 25% off sale and the Black Friday sale in November last year. The last few products in the haul weren’t on sale.

I’ve seen Fenty Beauty release highlighter palettes like this one before, and I’ve always been intrigued to get one, so when they released the Killawatt: Arcane Quad freestyle highlighter palette, I knew I wanted to get it. I don’t have any attachment to Arcane, but I thought the palette was beautiful.

Lancôme isn’t really a brand on my radar, but I’d been wanting to try out their C.E. Skin transforming bronzer in 01 Fair, and their C.E. Skin transforming highlighter in 01 Light Glow, and they’re really pretty.

I don’t purchase a lot of luxury make-up in generel, but I do really like Dior. This is the Dior Forever Star Glow Filter in 0N, and it’s such a pretty base under foundation.

I previously bought a lipgloss from the NYX Beetlejuice collection, but the palette wasn’t available at the time. It was at the time of the Black Friday sale, so I picked it up 40% off. I wore it earlier this week, and it was quite nice for an affordable eyeshadow palette.

I love the Rimmel Kind & Free mascara in 002 Brown Black so I picked up a back-up. And I thought I would give the L’Oréal Panorama mascara in Black a try.

The last thing I got on sale was the Rimmel Multi Tasker setting spray. I haven’t tried it yet.

e.l.f. Cosmetics is never on sale at Matas, so I just got two of the Fine as Fleck glitter eyeshadows, because I wanted to try them out. I picked up the shades White Hot and Straight Fire.

Lastly, I got three items from Essence which is another brand that’s usually not on sale, because their products are so affordable already. I bought two Satin Chrome nail polishes in 02 Artificial Pinktelligence and 03 Meta Maroon, and then I picked up the Xmas Kisses blush & highlighter duo in 01 Under The Mistleglow!, which was from a limited edition Christmas collection.

Smokey purple

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I just love a dark, smokey purple eye look, and isn’t the lip colour fun?

Cosmetics Halo Glow setting powder in Light. Face make-up: bronzer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Beauty Wand contour in Fair/Light, blush – Catrice Festive Treasures Blush Drops in C01 Merry Mauve!, highlighter – about-face Light Lock Highlight Fluid in Unrestrained. Eyebrows: MAC Shape + Shade brow tint in Taupe + e.l.f. Cosmetics Brow Lift. Lips: MAC Liptensity lip pencil in Galaxy Grey + MAC Haku lipstick)

Soft spot for pastels

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love this eye look, but I do have a soft spot for purples and greens and any pastel shade.

(Base: primers – e.l.f. Cosmetics Liquid Poreless Putty primer + L’Oréal Glotion natural glow enhancer (shade: 901 Fair Glow), foundation – e.l.f. Cosmetics Soft Glam satin foundation (shade: 13 Fair Neutral), concealers – e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty Color-Correcting Eye Brightener (shade: Fair) + Huda Beauty #FAUXFILTER Luminous Matte liquid concealer (shade: 1.3G Marshmellow), powders – Huda Beauty Easy Bake powder (shade: Cherry Blossom Cake) + e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Powder Filter pressed powder (shade: Fair Neutral Cool). Face make-up: bronzer – Whats Up Beauty Cheeque Terre bronzer in 10 Light, blush – Catrice Disney Pixar Finding Dory loose powder blush in 010 Reef Reflection, highlighter – Jolie Beauty Moonchild highlighter palette (shade: Phases). Eye make-up: base – GlossGods Cosmetics That Base! Crease Killer eyeshadow base, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 20 Cream + Jolie Beauty Spellbound palette (shades: Healing + Banishment + Spiritual + Vengeance + Crystals + Manifest + Intention + White Magic), mascara – Rimmel Kind & Free Lash Loader mascara (shade: 002 Brown Black), eyeliner – Oden’s Eye Solmåne gel liner in 004 Mint. Sephora Single’s Day sale haul (November 2024)

I have a Sephora haul to share with you today. I made these purchases during their Single’s Day sale back in November.

The biggest purchase I made was the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership X: Moonlit Seduction eyeshadow palette. This is a really pretty palette, and I remember getting a good price on it.

I’d been wanting to try the KVD Beauty Good Apple bronze + sculpt balm duo and the Good Apple blush balm duo ever since they launched, and I finally picked up the bronze + sculpt balm duo in Fair 100 and the blush balm duo in Elusive Orchard 30. I really like the formula of these products.

For cheeks, I also got the Dior Rouge Blush & Glow duo face palette in 287 Dioramour and the Make Up For Ever Artist Face Powders highlighter in H130 Wherever Pearl. The Dior duo looks beautiful, but I was a bit disappointed the in lack of pigmentation. The Make Up For Ever highlighter is very nice though.

I’d been dying to pick up a slightly darker shade of the R.E.M. Beauty Sweetener foundation, because the shade I picked up originally was too light. This time around I got the shade Fair 6 CN, and it’s a really good shade match for my skin. I featured it in the 5 favourites post from December last year. And I love the Natasha Denona Macro Tech eye pencil, so I needed the shade Willow in my collection, which is a beautiful dark green shade.

The last two products I bought (I also got a free gift with my purchase) were two fragrances. I picked up the Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 76 perfume mist 90 ml and the KAYALI Lovefest Burning Cherry I 48 eau de parfum 10 ml. I really like both scents, especially the KAYALI Lovefest Burning Cherry.

And here’s the selection of minis I received as a free gift.
