Here’s what I wore Wednesday October 30. It’s not the first time I’ve worn an outfit inpired by the character of Duckie Dale (from Pretty in Pink). His style is iconic and a great inspiration for Halloween or another occasion that requires a costume or any other day to be honest.
Here’s what I wore Monday October 28. It was the week leading up to Halloween, so I decided to wear Halloween/costume inspired looks all week. My inspiration for this look was clown but make it chic.
Today’s haul is a collective haul of the Essence and Catrice Disney Pixar collaborations. Essence did a collab with Up and Catrice did a collab with Finding Dory. I picked up the items I found the most intereting. Let’s begin with the Essence Up collection.
I didn’t initially pick up a palette, but I decided to get the one called 02 Wilderness explorer later on, when I found it on sale, and it was actually quite nice.
I also picked up the eyeshadow brush and the color correcting compact powder, which has the cutest imprint.
I was really excited to try the liquid blushlighters in 01 Dusk in paradise and 02 Sunset serenade and the liquid highlighter in 01 Joyful ride, and they’re really pretty.
I was also excited to try the Glitter Switch liquid lipsticks. I bought all three shades; 01 Paradise falls, 02 Ellie’s enchantment, and 03 Over the horizon. They’re pretty fun, and I like the packaging.
I wasn’t interested in as many things from the Catrice Finding Dory collection, but I did pick up the following items; the two metallic eyeliners in 010 Blue Lagoon and 020 Seashell Sparkle, the balmy lipstick in 010 Turtle Tales, the Tinted Lip & Cheek Jelly in 020 Cuddle Buddy, the loose powder blush in 010 Reef Reflection, and the blush brush.
Here are some closer looks at the lipstick and the blush.
I have a Matas haul to share with you today. It includes mostly affordable make-up.
The only high end product in this haul is the Fenty Beauty Trace’d Out lip liner in Coal Blooded 09. This is a very unique shade of lip liner; it’s a very dark almost black brown shade. The only thing I got from the NYX Beetlejuice collaboration was the Sandstorm Swirl Butter Gloss in 04. I also picked up the Rimmel Kind & Free Lash Loader mascara in 002 Brown Black. I’ve been using this mascara lately, and I’ve found that I prefer the original Rimmel Kind & Free mascara in the same shade.
From e.l.f. Cosmetics I got the Brow Lift in Clear, which is the best dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze in my opinion. I also finally purchased the e.l.f. Cosmetics Soft Glam satin foundation in 13 Fair Neutral, and I really like it.
The rest of the products in this haul are from Essence. I picked up the Essence Flawless Skin Trio loose setting powder in 10, the Essence Juicy Melon tinted lip & cheek balm, and the Essence Baby Got Holo highlighter stick in 10 Holy Apricotly. The powder indludes three shades (pink, lilac, and peach) that you can wear individually or swirl together, which is quite neat. I wasn’t aware of the fact the the blush was one of those jelly pH-reacting products, so I don’t know how I’m going to feel about, since they’re not my favourite kind of products. The highlighter is not bad. The shade is quite fun.
The last three products I got are all from the Essence In The Bloom’light collection. I bought the blushlighter in 01 Made Of Stardust, matte lip liner in 01 Live In Full Bloom, and the satin lipstick in 01 Kisses At Midnight. I think my favourite of the three is the blushlighter.
I have a collective haul to share with you today. It includes mostly make-up, but also some accessories, clothes, and a pair of shoes.
For once I only picked up two products from the MAC holiday 2024 collection. The collection is called Gift Of Gold, and I was very excited to see MAC launch a new type of blush. I got the Skinfinish Metallic cream blush in the shade Priceless Purple, which is such a fun shade. I also bought one of the frost lipsticks in the shade Regal Red, which is a great Christmas lipstick shade.
I received a Holiday Gift bag and a Macximal silky matte lipstick in Whirl with my MAC order.
Ever since I saw the Dior Forever liquid sequin liquid lipsticks launch around Christmas time in 2023, I’d been wanting to try one, but they sold out so quickly. So I was so excited to see them come back for the holidays in 2024, and I picked up the red shade in 999.
Of course I had to pick up the Natasha Denona Roxa palette. I love Natasha Denona’s eyeshadow formulas, and purple is my favourite colour, so this was a no-brainer purchase for me.
I also bought three indie palettes from Monolith. The first one is the Ensley Reign Cosmetics Underland palette. It has this dark and moody colour story, which is fun and different.
The Vamp palette from Bellabeautébar was their Halloween release for 2024, and it was not the only Halloween palette release with a purple and red colour story, and I’m not mad about it. Purple and red is actually a bit of an underrated colour story.
This is the Harvest of Souls palette from Fantasy Cosmetica, and it’s the biggest palette that they’ve released to date. It’s absolutely stunning. Just look at that colour story.
I love Cosmic Brushes, and for Halloween 2024 they launched their first mystery box. The box includes a palette, three cream blushes, and three lipsticks. If you haven’t bought it, but is planning to do so, here’s your spoiler alert.
The Sinister palette is another palette with a purple and red colour story, which is really fun and inspiring.
The cream blushes from Cosmic Brushes are called Blush Butter and come in three fun shades in this box (from left to right); Got Chills, Dazed, and Heroine.
The three lipsticks are the Velvet matte lipsticks in the shades Salem, Nancy, and Clarice. Very interesting shades, and I like the formula.
I picked up three bow accessories; two brooches from Maanesten (the style is called Memoru) and a leopard print hair clip from Accessorize.
I’ve mentioned before that I love pink and red together, and that was apparently very obvious back in October, when I purchased a floral dress from Asos Design, a stripy dress from Monki, and an oversized T-shirt from JJXX in that colour combo.
Lastly, I found these purple suede boots from Tamaris 60% off in a department store, and I thought they were a great pair of comfy, colourful boots that would go with a lot of different looks.
The Oden’s Eye Luminous & Shadow collection launched last autumn, and the collection included an eyeshadow palette, three blushes, and three highlighters. I love Oden’s Eye, so I got them all.
This is the Eternal Twilight palette, which is the biggest palette Oden’s Eye has launched so far. It’s not my favourite colour story the brand has ever done, but I did like the look I created with it.
The Shadows blushers and the Luminous highlighters came in similar packaging to the Solmåne Sunlight Love blushers and their Solmåne Moonlight Feel highlighters, but in new colours and with new images.
The Shadows blushers are in the shades (from left to right) D101 Glow Powder, S101 Radiant Flame, and S102 Luminous Heat. They’re all very fun and bright.
The Luminous highlighters are in the shades (from left to right) L101 Dim Glow, L102 Subtle Radiance, and L103 Gentle Firefly. It’s really hard to capture the shifts in a picture, but they’re super sparkly and pretty.
The last month of winter has come to an end, and I’m so ready for spring! The weather forecast includes slightly warmer weather next week, which I’m very excited about. Spring is the time for a fresh starts, and I think that is just what I need. But first, let’s say goodbye to winter and talk about some favourites from February (it’s mostly make-up as per usual).
Colourpop Pretty Fresh Set It Up primer: This primer from Colourpop is fairly new, and it’s a great allround primer. It’s described as a gel cream which is a texture I really like, when it comes to primers, and so far it has worked under every foundation I’ve worn with it.
GlossGods Cosmetics That Base! Crease killer eyeshadow base: From a face primer to an eyeshadow primer. I’ve had this eyeshadow primer/base for about 1,5 years, and I’ve liked it, but I’ve worn it more frequently recently. It’s great underneath pastels and bright eyeshadows.
KVD Beauty Dazzle Stick long-wear eyeshadows: I’ve actually loved these shadow sticks ever since they launched, and as you can see I’ve collected them all. I’ve been using them a handful of times this past month on days where I had to leave early for work, because they’re quick and easy to apply with a finger, and they’re super pretty and sparkly and long-wearing, as the name suggests.
Lethal Cosmetics Aura multichrome liners: I’ve tried a few different formulas of multichrome eyeliners, but these ones from Lethal Cosmetics are my favourites so far. The colours are beautiful, and they show up quite well in the waterline, which not all multichrome liners do.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy (film): I love Bridget Jones! Bridget Jones’s Diary (the first film) is one of those films that I can always watch. I actually feel that way about all the films in this series, and even though this last film is not my most favourite from the series, I enjoyed it very much.
I have a Monolith haul to share with you today. This haul includes both eyeshadow palettes, cheek products, and lip products. Let’s begin with the palettes.
I was unsure about whether to get the Bellabeautébar Poison Garden palette or not, but I’m really glad I decided to get it. This colour story is dark and unique and very beautiful.
I love Fantasy Cosmetica’s eyeshadows, so I’ll probably pick up most palettes that they release. This is the Enchanted Autumn palette made in collaboration with Makeup Just For Fun, and the colour story is dark and autumnal (as the name of the palette suggests). I really liked the look I created with it.
I think this little collection from Adebt Cosmetics is so pretty. The eyeshadow palette is called Unity and the blush palette is called Duality. I love that the Adebt Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes are shimmer heavy, and the blushes are beautiful.
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned it before, but Unearthly Cosmetics is another one of my favourite brands, when it comes to eyeshadows, and the Gargoyle palette is right up my alley. I love blues, purples, and greens, and I love them together in the same palette.
And speaking of Unearthly Cosmetics and colour stories right up my alley, the Night Terror palette from the Night Terror collection box is so stunning. The collection also included a liquid highlight in the shade Bizarre and a lipgloss in the shade Dread.
These were my first ever purchases from Kaleidos, which is a brand I’d been wanting to try for a while. The Escape Pod palette was definitely on my wishlist, and it’s very beautiful. I also wanted to try the Untamed Glow glossy lip glaze in Freefall, which is a grey-silver shimmery gloss, which is very unique and very pretty. I really like the component too.
I was so excited to see Singe Beauty releasing colour cosmetics. These are the Evocative Silk Blushes and I picked up three of the four shades. They’re called (from left ot right) Riveting Rhubarb, Persistent Persimmon, and Timid Tomato. It’s a very lovely glowy, but not glittery formula, and the shades are so nice as well.
For the first time I received a gift with my Monolith order. I got the Blend Bunny Cosmetics Omni Lash lash perfecting mascara, which is the black mascara I’m using at the moment. It’s not my favourite mascara I’ve ever tried, but I don’t hate it either.
I have a Beauty Bay haul to share with you today. I picked up a bunch of cheek and lip products. Let’s begin with the cheek products.
I picked up one powder highlighter and two powder blush products. I thought the Glisten Cosmetics X Teletubbies Tubby Custard highlighter was such a pretty pink/blue shifty shade. I really like the NYX Buttermelt blushes, and I was excited to finally find the purple shade called 12 All The Butta in stock. And from Made By Mitchell I got the Mini Blursh Book in Atlas of Anatomy, which has some pretty interesting blush colours.
Speaking of Made By Mitchell, I bought two more shades of the Blursh Lights liquid highlighters; Ice Ice BB and Clear As Day. I really enjoy this liquid highlighter formula. I also got another shade of the Glisten Cosmetics Blooming Blushes. It’s a fun orange shade called Orange You Glad?.
Lastly, I purchased two lip products; the Maybelline Lifter Liner in the shade Peaking and the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in Candy Cane. I featured the Laneige Lip Glowy Balm in my December 5 favourites post.
