5 favourites – July

Today is the last day of July, which is also the last day of my summer holiday. I had such a nice, relaxing and long summer holiday this year, which was perfect considered my current state:) And I only have to work for a month before my maternity leave begins. This month I have a mixed bag of favourites, so let’s talk about them.

Maternity denim shorts: At some point I’ll be posting a H&M MAMA haul, but I had to feature these denim shorts in this 5 favourites post. These are really comfy, and they’re the perfect length. I’ve worn these a lot on hot summer days.

Violet classic Crocs: I never thought that I would actually purchase and wear a pair of classic Crocs, but I love the sandal version, and now that I’m pregnant, they’re just so easy to slip in to when taking down the garbage or when going grocery shipping. And I love that you can customise them with all different kinds of Jibbitz. This pair is decked out with all different kinds of fun and colourful ones of course, and I think it looks so cute!

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara: This is not a new product in the beauty world, and I remember people talking about it years ago, but I hadn’t tried it until early this month, and I really like it. It’s not the most volumising mascara, but it doesn’t transfer or smudge, which is such a big plus for me. I also think it looks really nice on the lashes.

Thor: Love and Thunder (film): My boyfriend and I are big MCU fans, so we went to watch the newest Thor film last week, and we both really enjoyed it. I think Christian Bale’s Gorr is one of the creepiest Marvel villains so far.

Floor fan: This last favourite might be a bit strange, but this floor fan has been a life saver on the hot summer days, we’ve had in Denmark in July. I’m not a huge fan of super warm weather anyways, but now that I’ve tried being pregnant in super warm weather, a floor fan is a necessity!

Can’t not

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I can’t not wear a blue eye look with that blue floral matching set. I think it’s impossible.

Very golden

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s not often that I wear eye make-up this golden, but I actually think it looks very pretty.

More midnight

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’ve already posted quite a few make-up looks where I’ve used the By BEAUTY BAY Midnight 42 Colour Palette on my eyes, but here’s another one, and they’re many more to come, because I just love that palette.

Juvia’s Place haul – palettes and lips

I have a Juvia’s Place haul to share with you today. I haven’t purchased much from Juvia’s Place these past couple of years, but I was intrigued by their smaller palettes and lipsticks, so I picked up a few. Let’s begin with the palettes.

These are the four eyeshadow palettes I picked up; Olori I & II, The Sweet Pinks, and The Rebel Mints.

As far as I remember there is a third Olori palette as well, but I preferred the colour stories of I and II.

I’ve previously purchased The Violets and The Berries from the line of monochromatic palettes, and I really liked The Sweet Pinks as well. These pinks are so pretty.

The Rebel Mints is one of their smallest four pan palettes, and it consists of mints of course. I’m actually wearing all four shades from this palette today, and I think my eye look turned out really nice.

For lips I picked up one of the Luxe Lip liners in the shade So Rare, which is a warm brown, and I also got three The Nude Velvety matte lipsticks in the shades In Vogue, Muted, and Lady. I like the finish and formula of the lipsticks, but I really dislike the scent.

Flattering neutrals

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m very impressed by the quality of this newer Catrice eyeshadow palette, I was wearing on my eyes that day. I think it’s such a flattering neutral eye look on my eyes, if I do say so myself.

(Base: primers – Essence Catching Clouds Cloud-touch Mousse Primer in 01 Up On Cloud + I Heart Revolution x Elf collection primer, foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair) + NYX Born To Glow radiant concealer (shade: Pale), powders – Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder (shade: 1 Fair). Face make-up: bronzer – Ofra Cosmetics x Samantha March River bronzer duo, blusher – Clinique Cheek Pop Pearl blush in 04 Rose Quartz Pop, highlighter – Essence Disney Classics Maxi Blush Highlighter in Bambi 01 Nature. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Catrice Disney Classics Multi-Effect Eyeshadow Palette in Miss Bunny 030 Flirtatious (shades: Hello + Tail + Thumper + Make Up + Passion + Fashionable + Eyelashes), mascara – MAC M·A·CStack mascara, eyeliner – MAC Studio Chromagraphic pencil in NC15/NW20. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: NYX Suede Matte lip liner in Cannes + MAC Sweet-N-Vicious lipstick)

Periwinkle, pink, pastels

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Instead of going with a straight up lilac look, I decided to go with periwinkle and pink to match the tights I wore and to stick with a pastel theme. I think the look turned out really pretty.

(Base: primer – Wet n Wild Prime Focus The Impossible primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – e.l.f. 16HR Camo matte concealer (shades: Light Sand + Fair Warm), powders – Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star setting powder in Lavender + Fair. Face make-up: bronzer – Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk’r Instant Warmth bronzer (shade: Inda Sun), blusher – Dior Backstage Rosy Glow blush in 001 Pink, highlighter – BH Cosmetics Aprés in Aspen highlighter palette (shade: Bunny Slope). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – By BEAUTY BAY Midnight 42 Colour Palette (shades: Dream + Lilac + Periwinkle + Gleam) + MAC Extra Dimension foil eyeshadow in Cooler Than Being Cool, mascara – MAC M·A·CStack mascara, eyeliner – Revolution x Bratz Yasmin eye pencil. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: MAC Shock Value Pro Longwear lip pencil + Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold mega matte lipstick in Goody Goody + I Heart Revolution x Disney Fairytale lip topper in The Little Mermaid)

Double bold

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Sometimes wearing both a bold eye look and bold lips can be a bit much, but I don’t really care. I love it!

(Base: primer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Blemish Fighting Putty primer, foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – e.l.f. 16HR Camo matte concealer (shades: Light Sand + Fair Warm), powders – e.l.f. Cosmetics HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder (shade: 1 Fair). Face make-up: The Balm Take Home The Bronze bronzer in Oliver, blusher – Clinique Cheek Pop Pearl blush in 05 Ruby Pop, highlighter – MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Lunar Lights. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – By BEAUTY BAY Earthy 42 Colour Palette (shades: Snow + Shamrock + Pine + Pixie + Ray), mascara – MAC M·A·CStack mascara, eyeliner – MAC Studio Chromagraphic pencil in NC15/NW20. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Revolution Pro X Marilyn Monroe lip liner in Marilyn Red + Revolution Pro X Marilyn Monroe lipstick in Marilyn Red)

MAC Wild Cherry collection

For the past three or four years MAC has released a cherry blossom inspired spring collection, and this year’s collection is called Wild Cherry. As you can see, I picked up quite a few items from the collection: I bought the Fix+ in the cherry blossom scent (which is my favourite Fix+ scent), the Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Petallic Metallic, the Glow Play blush in Peaches ‘N’ Dreams, the Love Me lipstick in Sakura Szn, and the Pre + Prime Lip.

Here’s the inside of the Extra Dimension Skinfinish. It’s so pretty, right?! The shade is a shifty gold to pink, which is very pretty, however, I don’t find the formula to be as good as some other Extra Dimension Skinfinishes. This one is a little less pigmented and smooth.

The MAC Glow Play blushes are some of my favourites, and this is the first time they’ve been released in limited edition shades and packaging. This shade is quite similar to the shade Groovy from the permanent line, though a little lighter.

This collection only included Love Me lipsticks, which is a creamy formula. I picked up the more nude shade in the collection, and it’s a very pretty shade (I’m wearing it here and here).

I also got some free gifts with this purchase which I thought I would include in this haul as well. I got two brushes, which is always nice, because MAC brushes are not cheap. These are the 133S Small Cheek brush and the 275S Medium Angled Shading brush.

For once I also wanted to include the free samples I got with this order, because I got a couple of interesting ones. I’ve been wanting to try both the Studio Fix Mattifine 12HR Shine-Control primer and the M·A·CStack mascara. I’ve already used up the mascara, and I loved it. I also received a Lightful C3 Radiant Hydration Skin Renewal Lotion and another Strobe Cream sample in Pinklite.

Beauty Killer 2

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m obsessed with this make-up look! I’m wearing the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer 2 palette (which I haven’t hauled yet) on my eyes, and I bought the palette purely for the two purple/indigo shades, and they are just as stunning as I hoped they would be. I also love the warm nude lip.

(Base: primer – Essence Prime + Studio Multi-Action + Protecting primer, foundation – Essence Fresh & Fit foundation (shade: 05 Fresh Porcelaine), concealers – Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair) + NYX Born To Glow radiant concealer (shade: Pale), powders – Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Dior Backstage Face & Body Powder-No-Powder in 0 Neutral. Face make-up: bronzer – Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Bronzer in Sun Kissed, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in So Natural, highlighter – Essence Disney Classics Maxi Blush Highlighter in Dumbo 02 Peanuts (used as blush topper/highlighter). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Jeffree Star Cosmetics Beauty Killer 2 palette (shades: Respect + Under Oath + Death Row + Indica Bling) + MAC Nylon eyeshadow, mascara – MAC M·A·CStack mascara, eyeliner – NYX Slim eye pencil in Lavender Shimmer. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Liner in Sandstone + Natasha Denona I Need A Nude lipstick in Charlotte)
