Affordable beauty haul: Essence, L.A. Girl & Revolution

Over the past couple of months, I’ve collected some affordable make-up products from Essence, L.A. Girl, and Revolution.

Essence often come out with limited edition collections, and I thought this Berry on collection looked really pretty. I purchased the two matte liquid lipsticks; they’re in the shades 01 Berry Nice and 02 Berry Beautiful. I also purchased the highlighter which is called 01 Berry on My Mind!, and it’s a pretty pink shade.

I’ve also bought a bunch of products from L.A. Girl and a single product from Revolution. From L.A. Girl I’ve purchased three coloured mascaras; turquoise, bright blue, and purple. The only products from this haul that I’ve tried so far are the Shockwave Neon liners; I’ve worn the yellow one (Screamin’) and the green one (Gotcha), but there’s also a bright teal one (Fresh) and a purple one (Vivid). So far I’m quite impressed by these liners. The last product I’ve got from L.A. Girl is the PRO.Color Foundation Mixing Pigment in White; I want to try to lighten certain foundations. The very last product in this haul is the Revolution Vivid Baked highlighter in Matte Lights. As the name suggests it’s a matte highlighter, which is something I haven’t really tried before, so I’m excited to see what it looks like on the skin.

Perfect matte red

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The black and white outfit needed a pop of colour, so I decided to wear a red make-up look. I think I might have found the perfect matte red eyeshadow in Cherry Soda from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blood Sugar palette.

5 favourites – July

July has come to an end which means that my summer holiday is now over. I spent the last three weeks relaxing with my family, which is why I haven’t blogged much this past month, but now I’m back home, I start working again tomorrow, and I’ll also be blogging regularly again. I love summer holidays, but I’m also the type of person who’s excited to get back to work. But before that happens, here’s my July favourites.

Sølvring af manchetknap

Cufflink ring: I went to several flea markets and second hand stores this summer and hauls will be coming up. One of my favourite flea market finds is this silver ring made of a cufflink. The woman who sold it to me made it herself, and there’s only two of them in world, since cufflinks come in sets of two:)

Hjemmelavede perlesmykker

Homemade jewellery: My sisters and I went crazy with jewellery making this summer, and these are the bracelets and ankle bracelets I made. I’ve worn different combinations of these almost everyday these past three weeks, and I’ll probably continue to do so for the rest of the summer.

DSC_8068

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Jawbreaker palette: I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about an eyeshadow palette than I was for this one. 2019 has been the year of colourful eyeshadows for me, and this palette is absolutely stunning. It was one of the palettes I brought with me on summer holiday, and even though I’ve used it a lot, I still haven’t tried out half of the shades. I can’t wait to play even more with this palette.

DSC_7874

Ofra Cosmetics x Nikkietutorials Glazed Donut highlighter: This highlighter is just gorgeous! The colour is perfect and it looks stunning on the skin. Definitely my most used highlighter in July.

Vintage sko

Vintage Shoes – Caroline Cox: I started reading this book years ago, and now I finally had time to finish it. I’ve been obsessed with shoes since my early teenage years, and this book tells you all you need to know about shoes from the 20. century. It was such an inspiring read.

Raspberry pink

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. How pretty is this raspberry pink lip! Especially when paired with soft pink eye make-up.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. Jeffree Star Jawbreaker collection (summer 2019)

I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited for a Jeffree Star collection than I was for this year’s summer collection.

DSC_8065DSC_8068

My jaw literally dropped when I first saw the Jawbreaker palette. Have you ever seen anything this beautiful! I’ve only played with this palette once so far, but I’m already obsessed.

DSC_8074DSC_8076

I’ve also purchased the Mini Breaker palette. I love the concept of mini palettes, and the colours in this one are stunning.

DSC_8082DSC_8084

I’ve never tried the Supreme Frost highlighters before, but when I saw the shade Diamond Wet swatched, I knew I had to give it a try.

DSC_8089

Last, but most certainly not least, I purchased four of the limited edition Velour liquid lipsticks. The shades are (from top to bottom) Fully Nude, Strawberry Crush, Yes Ma’am, and Purple Urkle. The colours are brighter in real life and oh so pretty.

Summery and winged out

DSC_7928DSC_7924

Here’s the make-up I wore Sunday June 9. I wanted to do something different with my eye make-up and did this summery winged out look. I also wore a very nude lip, which I rarely do, but I really like the way it looks with the bright eye make-up.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. Creamy cool-toned pink

DSC_7905rediDSC_7904redi

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I don’t remember the last time I wore a creamy, cool-toned pink lipstick, but I have to admit that I kind of like it. Especially paired with soft, periwinkle eyeshadow.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory), powders – e.l.f. Face make-up: bronzer – Physicians Formula Butter bronzer (shade: Light), blusher – MAC You’ve Got Me Feeling powder blush, highlighter – Jeffree Star Skin Frost in Princess Cut. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: L.A. Girl Perfect Precision lip liner in Pinky + MAC Goodbye Kiss lipstick)

5 favourites – June

The first month of summer will be over by tomorrow, and what a month it was! Work has been super busy in June (due to exams), but now I can enjoy a nice, long summer holiday. The weather has been really nice in June as well, though it appears to get a bit colder next week. But enough about that, let’s talk about some June favourites.

Ankelkæde

Silver ankle bracelet: I’m a bit unsure whether I have featured this ankle bracelet in a favourites post before or not, but I think not. I’ve had it between 10-15 years, and I still get a lot of wear out of it every summer.

Hvidt bælte m. perle spænde - H&M

White belt w. pearl buckle: This has been my go-to belt this past month. The pearl buckle is so pretty, and it just adds a little extra something to any outfit.

DSC_7265

L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer full coverage concealer (shade: 322 Ivory): I did a first impressions post on this concealer recently, and as I wrote in that post, this is a great full coverage drugstore concealer. I’ve had a lot of breakouts lately (probably because I’ve been so busy at work), and this concealer does such a great job covering them up.

dsc_6666

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle highlighter (shade: Fire Crystal): I’ve been really into very intense highlighters lately (I just want to glow!), and the Fire Crystal shade from this Fenty Beauty highlighter duo has been one of my go-tos.

DSC_7269

MAC Prep+Prime Fix+ (cherry blossom scent): I’ve featured the original Fix+ in a favourites post three years ago, and I still use that all the time, but more recently I’ve been using the cherry blossom scented one from the Boom Boom Bloom collection. It’s so refreshing and it smells incredible.

Another Beauty Bay sale haul

DSC_7855

When Beautybay had a sale recently, I obviously had to get a ‘few’ things. I got two more Velour liquid lipsticks from the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Holiday 2018 collection. I picked up the shades Jeffree Who? and Can’t Relate, and I love both shades. I also picked up three more of the Velour lip liners; the shades are Allegedly, Androgyny, and Dominatrix. Then I picked up a couple of eye shadow palettes; I got another Wet n Wild palette which is a neutral palette called Nude Awakening, and then I had to get the Sola Look Flashdance palette. I mean, how cute is that packaging! From Wet n Wild I also picked up the Photofocus pressed powder in Warm Light, and I added two more Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow liquid eyeshadows (Wanderlust + Enchantress) to my collection. Last but not least, I got the Ofra highlighter in the shade Glazed Donut (made in collaboration with NikkieTutorials), and it is blinding!

Wash of colour

DSC_7845DSC_7847

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love the simplicity of this make-up look. I should wear a wash of colour on the eyelids paired with a nude lip more often.

(Base: primers – Wet n Wild CoverAll primer + MAC Prep + Prime Natural Radiance Illuminating Base (shade: Radiant Yellow), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade: NC20) + Revolution Conceal & Define concealer (shade: C2), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless pressed powder (shade: 90 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Maybelline City Bronzer in 100 Light Cool, blusher – MAC Sugar Or Syrup powder blush, highlighter – MAC Electric Wonder irridecent powder in Serenity Seeker. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eye shadows – Essence Must Haves single eyeshadows (shades: 09 Chilli Vanilli + 23 Mermaid At Heart) + Morphe x Jaclyn Hill palette (shades: M.F.E.O. + Beam), mascara – Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express, eyeliner – Sephora Long lasting kohl pencil in 07 Infinite beige. Eyebrows – e.l.f. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Lips: NYX Suede Matte lip liner in Cannes + MAC Princess Incognito lipstick)
