First impressions: Essence Lash Princess mascaras

I’ve been trying out two Essence Lash Princess mascaras, the False Lash Effect and the Curl & Volume, so I thought I would combine my first impressions on both mascaras in one post.

Let’s start with the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara. I’ve already featured this one in a 5 favourites post, which obviously means that I like it. But here are some more details about this mascara.

It has a cone shaped bristle brush/wand which I love. It my lashes look long and voluminous, and I would definitely say that the mascara holds it’s claim of giving a false lash effect. I wore two coats on my top lashes, and I think my lashes look really good. I used a spooly to remove the mascara marks on my eyelids and underneath my eyes (there were very few though), and they was very easy to remove. I discovered very little transfer to the top of my eyelids (and only after many hours of wear), however, the older the formula gets the more it transfers (I’ve been wearing this mascara a lot since I wrote down my first impressions). I removed it with regular eye make-up remover which took a little bit of work, but nothing to bad and I don’t really care because it’s such a great mascara + it’s so affordable!

And now moving on to the Essence Lash Princess Curl & Volume mascara.

This mascara has an hourglass shaped bristle brush/wand, which is not my favourite type of mascara wand (because it’s thick at the end/tip). My lashes are naturally curled, so it’s difficult to say, if they look more curled with this mascara on (I don’t think they do). I wore two coats on my top lashes, and you need that second coat to get the volume that it claims to give, but then you definitely do get volume, and I do think my lashes look really good. I used a spooly to remove the mascara marks on my eyelids and underneath my eyes, and it was fairly easy. There was very little transfer to the top of my eyelids, though nothing major. I removed it with regular eye make-up remover, and it was fairly easy to remove (probably a little easier than the False Lash Effect mascara). My lashes looked good all day, and overall I really like this mascara, however, I think I prefer the False Lash Effect one a little bit more.

Chandler and Joey

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used both the Revolution x Friends Chandler palette and Joey palette to create this eye look, and I think it turned out so pretty. The Joey palette is my absolute favourite though, and my favourite shade is the shimmery pink with a gold shift called Dr. Drake.

Favourite styling so far

Here’s what I wore Thursday May 27. As I might have mentioned before, I’ve had a hard time styling this H&M x Richard Allan skirt, but I really like how this look turned out. I think it’s my favourite styling of the skirt so far.

(Blazer + roll neck top – second hand, skirt – H&M, boots – Monki)

Zalando haul – clothes, accessories, beauty

I have a Zalando haul to share with you today. It’s a mix of clothes, accessories, and beauty products. Let’s start with the clothes.

I got three pieces of clothing, and all three pieces are from Monki. I thought the white button up blouse with the floral embroidery was very pretty, and I’ve actually worn it with the lilac wide leg jeans. I wore the denim shorts on my summer holiday in July when the weather was hot.

I purchased two accessories. The green snake print bag is also from Monki, and the white belt is from Tamaris. I hadn’t had a white belt for a while, and I missed having a white belt, so I picked this one up, and I really like it.

And now on to the beauty products. I picked up a The Balm Bronzilla bronzer, two MAC Black Cherry Extra Dimension blushes in the shades Dilly-Dolly and Under My Plum, a L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara in Moonlight Noir, two Maybelline Colour Sensational Ultimatte lipsticks in the shades More Scarlet + More Rust, and a Maybelline Lifter Gloss in the shade 8 Stone.

Here’s a closer look at the bronzer and blushers. I love the MAC Extra Dimension formula, and these blushers are so stunning. I’m especially obsessed with the light pink shade with a gold shift called Dilly-Dolly.

I also picked up a NYX The Marshmellow primer set including a full size primer, a travel size primer, and a sponge. I love the primer, but I haven’t tried the sponge yet. It sure is cute though.

Golden toffee

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the Huda Beauty Brown Obsessions Toffee palette for the first time, and I love how the eye look turned out; the shimmers are so intense and beautiful. I love the golden yellow nude lipstick as well; it goes perfectly with the eye look.
