New from e.l.f.

dsc_0981

I recently discovered some new additions to the e.l.f. display at my local supermarket, and I decided to try out a few things. The product I’ve been most impressed with is the Eye Refresh. It has a cooling sensation and it brightens and refreshes the eye area to help alleviate under eye puffiness and dark circles. It feels really good and I’ve noticed how it really does alleviate under eye puffiness, and I think it’s an awesome product to use on those days where you look extra tired. I was obviously drawn to the Illuminating Palette. I’ve only used it once or twice so far, so I haven’t formed a proper opinion about it yet, but I get the feeling that they’re quite subtle highlight powders, so maybe you could even use them to set concealer on the under eye area. The Blemish Control Face Primer is supposed to help control breakouts and blemishes while priming the skin, and I’ve actually used it quite a bit, and I like it so far. Lastly, I thought I would try out the Blending Brush, because I’ve had such good experiences with e.l.f. brushes in the past, and this is another good one.

More Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks

dsc_1017

I was so impressed with the first two Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks I bought that I had to get hold of some more shades. The bright yellow is called Queen Bee and is from the limited edition summer collection, the nude is called Celebrity Skin, the deep brown red is called Unicorn Blood, the dark mauve is called Androgyny, and the dusty green is called Dirty Money. These colours are gorgeous, and you’ll definitely see me wear these in future make-up posts.

MAC Bangin’ Brilliant lipsticks

dsc_0922

Sorry about the silence on the blog this past week, but I just got home from a choir trip to the Netherlands last night. I’ve missed blogging and I have a lot of outfits, make-up looks and new products to show you. Today is going to be about lipsticks; MAC lipsticks to be exact. I’ve been waiting patiently for the new permanent lipstick range, the Bangin’ Brilliant collection, to launch in Denmark, and when it finally did I decided to purchase three lipsticks (even though I could have bought pretty much the entire collection). The collection is full of fun, different, colourful shades with different finishes though most of the lipsticks are either matte or frost. All three shades I decided to get are matte lipsticks. The shades I picked up are In The Spirit (black), 4Eva (purple), and Deep Rooted (grey brown). I’ve only worn Deep Rooted so far and I loved it. I can’t wait to wear the other shades as well.

First impressions: Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation

dsc_0783dsc_0893

It’s time for another ‘first impressions’ post, and this time it’s on the Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation. First a few words on the packaging. As you can see it’s in a tube so you squeeze out the product. I always find this kind of packaging a bit messy, but if the product is good I can live with it. Now, about the actual product; it’s a liquid formula and I applied it with a make-up sponge. The coverage is good and it has a matte finish as it claims. It says it’s for normal to oily skin which I agree with. I have pretty normal skin, and it’s still a bit dry (due to the matte finish). I’m wearing the lightest shade in the range which is 110 Porcelain, and I think it’s a quite good colour match. I wore the foundation for about 13 hours when I first tried it out, and it looked pretty decent at the end of the day (I don’t expect my foundation to look incredible after 13 hours). So far I’m neither loving nor hating this product, but these are only my first impressions, so I’m looking forward to see how I feel about it after I’ve worn it a few more times.

A few bits from H&M

Here’s a few clothing items I purchased a couple of weeks ago from H&M that I thought I would show you. I’ve been obsessed with bomber jackets lately, and I’ve been trying on this pink satin one before, and I’m so glad I finally decided to buy it. The khaki green shoulderless top was on sale, and I thought it was really cute and appropriate for this season because of the colour (not so much the shoulderless part). Lastly, I bought a scarf. I only ever wear scarfs outdoors when it’s cold, and I needed a scarf that was not too thick or warm to wear now before it gets too cold outside. I found this black and white one that I thought would go with all my different jackets and coats, and I have already used it quite a bit.

First impressions: Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks

dsc_0635dsc_0645

About three weeks ago I recieved my first Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipsticks, and I thought I would share my first impressions of them with you. I’d heard/read so many amazing things about these liquid lipsticks, so I was very happy to find them on Beautybay.com (one of my favourite webshops). At the time there was a limited selection of shades (but there has recently been added more shades), so I decided to get the two colours you see in the picture. The one in the yellow packaging is from the limited edition summer collection and it’s called Watermelon Soda, and the one in the pink packaging is a permanent shade and it’s called Blow Pony. The only difference I found with these two shades (apart from the colour of course) is the fact that the limited edition shade smells like watermelon and it smells phenomenal. The formula is very thin and liquidy, but very easy to apply. The pigmentation is fantastic and the product dries completely matte and transfer proof. I don’t find the lipsticks particularly drying on the lips and they last a very long lime. Like pretty much every other lipstick they wear off a bit on the inner/soft part of the lips when you eat and drink, but compared to the LA Splash liquid lipsticks these layer well and is therefore easy to touch up. I was able to remove (almost) all product with regular make-up remover/cleasing water. To be completely honest these are the best liquid lipsticks I’ve tried so far, and I highly recommend them.

MAC Star Trek

I’ve never watched Star Trek, but I couldn’t resist these limited edition MAC Star trek products. Of course I purchased one of the lipsticks, and once again I purchased a highlighting product from a limited edition MAC collection.

The highlighter is the Trip the Light Fantastic powder in the shade Luna Luster. I’m quite dissappointed in the quality of the packaging which feels very cheap, but as you can see the product itself is very beautiful and that’s what’s most important. It’s a peachy champagne colour and quite shimmery, but really pretty on the skin.

The lipstick is called Kling-It-On and it has a frost finish. As you can see it’s a very unique shade; it’s described as a deep purple with fine pink glitter. It’s a bit sheer, but you can build it up to some extend. The next time I’m going to wear it I’ll fill in my entire lip with a lip liner and then apply the lipstick on top.

One more beautybay haul

dsc_0517

You might have noticed that I’m quite fond of Beautybay.com, and here’s my most recent purchases from the webside.

dsc_0522

I was really stoked to find out that Beautybay now carries Milani. The two Milani products I’ve been wanting to try out the most are their powder blushers (also known as the rose blushers) and their baked blush specifically in the shade Luminoso. I think every beauty youtuber has talked about Luminoso at some point or another, so I wanted to see if it’s as good as people say. I haven’t tried it on yet, but I’ve swatched it and it looks gorgeous. For the rose blushers I chose the shade Romantic Rose and it’s the most beautiful pinky nude shade; the kind of blusher that goes with any make-up look. This one I’ve already worn several times, and I love it.

dsc_0527

Of course I had to pick up some liquid lipsticks. I have to admit that I’m quite into the metallic lip trend, so I decided to get one of the Milani Amore Mattallics Lip Créme. I chose the shade Raving Matte which is a beautiful purple. I also picked up two more L.A. Splash Lip Couture liquid lipsticks (in my last beautybay haul I promised to make an update post on the L.A. Splash liquid lipsticks and I will very soon); one is a green metallic shade called Rhea which is limited edition as far as I know and the other is in the shade Latte Confession which is a cult favourite and I can see why. It’s such a gorgeous deep nude shade (it’s actually really difficult to describe in detail) and I’ve already worn it twice. The last liquid lipstick I purchased is the Gerard Cosmetics Hydra Matte in the shade Ruby Slipper. It’s a deep red with red shimmer, and I’m really looking forward to see what it looks like on the lips.

dsc_0542dsc_0543

I puchased two more products from Gerard Cosmetics. I’ve been wanting the lipstick in London Fog for so long, and I’m really glad that I finally purchased it. It’s a grey with a purple undertone, and it’s such a cool shade (you can see me wear this and Latte Confession on my instagram @muchaluchas). The lip pencil is in the shade Underground and it’s a cool-toned grey nude. It’s a really nice lip pencil and I’ll probably check out the other colours at some point.

Lastly, I searched the webside for a bright blue pencil eyeliner to go with my blue mascara by NYX, and I found this Full Spectrum eye liner pencil by Makeup Geek in the shade Cobalt. It’s a beautiful shade and it matches my mascara very well. The eyeko felt tip liner was a free gift with purchase.
