5 favourites – May

The last spring month has come to an end, which means we’re going in to summer, and I’m very excited about that. I just wish that the weather would be summery too, but it looks as if my wish might come true towards the end of this week. Another reason why I’m super excited about summer is that it means that the summer holiday is not far away. I’ve been working a lot lately (this time of year is always stressful, when you’re a teacher), and I really need a long break. But, I still have about four weeks of work left, and we also have some May favourites to talk about first, so let’s do that.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Blemish Fighting Putty primer: The original e.l.f Cosmetics Poreless Putty primer is one of my favourite primers, and when I first saw that e.l.f Cosmetics had come out with a Blemish Fighting version, I was very intrigued. My skin has been quite nice lately, and I don’t necessarily think that this primer has much to do with that, but I really like it, and I’ve been reaching for it quite a bit.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder (shade: 1 Fair): It wasn’t instant love with this high end powder, but love it became. I don’t know why I wasn’t blown away the first couple of times, I used this powder, but the more I use it, the more I love it. I think my skin looks stunning all day, when I wear this powder, so maybe it’s worth the expensive price tag after all.

By BEAUTY BAY Midnight 42 Colour Palette: I haven’t hauled this palette yet, but I think it’s been my most used palette in May, so I had to feature it. You probably know by now that I love both purple and blue eyeshadow, so this palette was pretty much made for me. And I really enjoy the By BEAUTY BAY eyeshadow formulas, so I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this palette.

MAC M·A·CStack mascara: This mascara has gone viral for a good reason. This is only a sample, but I really like this mascara, so I might purchase a full size at some point.

Lego Creator Expert Orchid: I really needed a fun, little project to de-stress, and I love orchids, so I had to have this Lego version. It’s always fun building Lego sets, and now I’ll always have an orchid in bloom.

Second pastel look

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. This was the second eye look I did with the Natasha Denona Pastel palette. I prefer the first one I did, but this one is pretty too.

(Base: primers – Essence Catching Clouds Cloud-touch Mousse Primer in 01 Up On Cloud + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + e.l.f. Cosmetics Flawless Brightening concealer (shade: Fair 10 C), powder – Laura Mercier Translucent Loose setting powder. Face make-up: bronzer – Fenty Beauty Cheeks Out Freestyle cream bronzer in Butta Bisquit, blusher – Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Matte liquid blush in Grace, highlighter – Rare Beauty Positive Light liquid highlighter in Enchant. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Natasha Denona Pastel palette (shades: Feather + Starlet + Duet + Dainty + Illusion), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – NYX Faux Whites eyeliner in Lavender Blush. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Morphe x Nyane Color pencil in Pitaya Pink + Morphe x Nyane Mega Matte lipstick in Ayane)

Feelunique haul (17% off – except Natasha Denona)

Back in early December Feelunique had a 17% off sale, so I decided to get a few Morphe products I’d been wanting for a while. I also decided to get something from Natasha Denona, even though Natasha Denona wasn’t a part of the sale.

The Natasha Denona Glam face palettes was released around this time, and I really liked the concept, so I picked up the Light version. It comes with a cream blush, and star glow highlighter (new formula), and five neutral eyeshadows. As I’ve mentioned before, ND makes great neutral eyeshadows, and the blush and highlighter are super pretty, so this is a great face palette.

Coca Cola is my favourite soft drink, and I’d been wanting to get this Coca-Cola X Morphe Awe Together artistry palette for quite a while. However, the colour story is not my favourite, and some of the shades are a bit underwhelming. But it’s cute nonetheless.

The main reason to make this order was to get some products from the Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold collection. I’ve probably mentioned it a million times before, but I love everything Disney, and this Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold artistry palette is just so fun. I really like the colourful colour story, and I’ve liked the looks I’ve created with it so far.

I also picked up the Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold mega matte lipstick trio. It comes with the shades Bow Babe (nude), Oh Boy (red), and Goody Goody (pink). They’re very matte and very pigmented, and I love the Mickey & Friends faces on the actual lipstick part. So cute!

The last item I got was the Morphe Mickey & Friends Truth Be Bold 6-piece brush set. It comes in a cute tin, and the brushes themselves are super cute. I usually really like Morphe brushes, and these are no exception.

Most used pastels

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Another product I haven’t hauled yet, but that I’ve been loving is the Natasha Denona Pastel palette (I did feature it in my 5 favourites post from March). I think this is the first look I created with it, and it has quickly become one of my most used Natasha Denona palettes.

Far from the first time

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. The quality of the make-up pictures I took that day is not great (especially not on the second one), but it’s far from the first time I’ve posted a blue eye look, so I think it’ll be okay.

Lips: Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour liquid lipliner in Allegedly + MAC Tarnished Reputation lipstick)

No lilac

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. For once I didn’t go for lilac make-up even though it was a perfect opportunity, but instead I went for a muted green and neutral look.

(Base: primer – NYX The Marshmellow primer, foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealer – Rimmel The Multi-Tasker concealer (shade: 020 Fair), powders – e.l.f. Black Friday Beauty Bay haul

I know, I know, Black Friday was half a year ago, but I’m just getting around to sharing my Black Friday Beauty Bay haul with you. These are the products I bought.

Let’s start with BH Cosmetics. I love both the BH Cosmetics eyeshadow formulas and cheek product formulas, so I purchased a couple of palettes missing from my collection.

This is the Hangin’ in Hawaii palette; a very pretty neutral and pink palette.

This is the Mimosa palette; a fun and bright mainly pink palette.

And the Belgian Waffle bronzer & highlighter palette. What I find a bit weird about this palette is that the bronzers are fairly light, but the highlighters are quite dark. It’s nice quality though.

From Made By Mitchell I purchased the Milk Blursh Collection including a white liquid blush in Milk Mix, a purple one in Dairy Queen, and a hot pink one in Cow Lick. I also picked up the Blursh and Brush bundle which includes two blushers in the shades Melon Sorbet and Peach Sugar and a MF1 Face Brush Cheek Stippler. I’m not quite sure I like the brush though. However, I do like the other brush that I picked up, which is the ME3 eye brush Tapered Tickler.

From the Revolution Pro X Marilyn Monroe collection I got the Eye Quad in White Pearl and the Lip Set Red in Marilyn Red. I’ve barely used the eye quad, so I don’t have many thoughts on that yet, but I like the lip set. Both products are very pigmented and a beautiful shade of classic red.

These next three products are the real hits of this haul. I love the NABLA Skin Bronzing in Ambra, and I’ve been using it a lot. I already knew that I loved the Clinique Cheek Pop blushes so I picked up the shade 12 Pink Pop. And I was very pleasently surprised by how much I enjoy the Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Highlighter in Pink Diamond. It’s very easy to work with, and it’s such a pretty shade.

I also decided to get the other two shades of the By BEAUTY BAY Disney Colour and BEAUTY BAY Lip & Cheek Duos. They’re in the shades Pinocchio Shorts and Mad Hatter Face, and they’re both very pretty.

And last we have this random little selection of items. I bought another Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour lip liner. This one is in the shade I’m Nude. I also picked up another Soda #talkofthetown lipstick. This one is in the shade 004 Total Pink. I think I’ve got most of the shades now. And the very last thing I purchased was the LastObject LastRound in Red and it comes with 7 pads for removing make-up.

Shimmery/metallic pink

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I love a shimmery/metallic pink eyeshadow, and a pink eye look was perfect with this outfit.

(Base: primers – Essence Catching Clouds Cloud-touch Mousse Primer in 01 Up On Cloud + MAC Strobe Cream (shade: Pinklite), foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Revolution Eye Bright Illuminating Under Eye concealer (shade: Porcelain), powders – MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Warm Rose + Dior Backstage Face & Body Powder-No-Powder in 0 Neutral. Face make-up: bronzer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty bronzer in Tan Lines, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in No Shame!, highlighter – Rare Beauty Positive Light liquid highlighter in Enchant. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Juvia’s Place The Sweet Pinks eyeshadow palette (shades: 1 + 4 + 5 + 6) + MAC Extra Dimension foil eyeshadow in Cooler Than Being Cool, mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – LA Girl Shockwave Neon Liner in Gotcha. Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: Stila Stay All Day lip liner in Sangria + MAC Powder Kiss lipstick in If Wishes Were Roses)

Favourite blues

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used two of my favourite blue themed eyeshadow palettes to create this eye look, and I love how it turned out. I just really love blue eyeshadow to be honest.

(Base: primer – Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive primer, foundation – e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo CC Cream (shade: Fair 120N), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive concealer (shade: 05 Fair), powders – e.l.f. HD Undereye setting powder in Sheer + Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive mineral powder (shade: 01 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – e.l.f. Cosmetics Putty bronzer in Tan Lines, blusher – Milani Cheek Kiss Cream blush palette in 110 Sun Kissed Glow (shade 1), highlighter – RMS Beauty Living Luminizer. Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Essence eyeshadow in 05 Granny Pants + Jeffree Star Cosmetics Blue Blood palette (shades: Wealthy + Ice Tray + Cullinan) + BH Cosmetics Blueberry Muffin palette (shades: Delish + So Good), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – Marc Jacobs Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon (shade: Steel(etto)). Eyebrows: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze + Maybelline Brow Ultra Slim pencil in Medium Brown. Lips: NYX Suede Matte lip liner in Cannes + MAC Nuez Moscada lipstick)

More lilac

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Of course, I had to wear a lilac make-up look to match my all lilac comfy outfit.

(Base: primer – Milk Makeup Hydro Grip primer, foundation – L’Oreal Paris Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear foundation (shade: 015 Porcelain), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star concealer in C5, powders – Jeffree Star Cosmetics Magic Star setting powder in Lavender + Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish powder (shade: 1 Fair). Face make-up: bronzer – Natasha Denona Contour Sculpting Powder in 01 Light, blusher – Clinique Cheek Pop blush in 15 Pansy Pop, highlighter – Sleek Highlighting palette in Solstice (shade: Hemisphere).
