Two from MAC

On the very last day of March I purchased these two MAC products. I’d been checking the MAC webside several times that day, because I knew that the Halsey lipstick was going to be released. I also decided to buy a limited edition Mineralize Skinfinish.

The Halsey lipstick is a grey lipstick with a blue undertone, and it looks a bit more blue on the lips than in the bullet. I really wanted this lipstick because it’s a very different and unique shade. It has a matte finish which is my favourite finish from MAC.

The Mineralize Skinfinish is in the shade Warm Rose. It’s described as a pastel pink with a pink reflex which I think is a pretty good description. I would say it’s definitely more of a finishing powder than an actual highlighter, unless you like a very subtle shimmery highlighter. Either way it looks really pretty on the skin.

Gorgeous red lip combo

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I didn’t write down exactly what make-up I was wearing, but I know I’m wearing eye shadows from my Zoeva En Taupe palette and my Urban Decay Gwen Stefani lip pencil and lipstick in 714. I’m really loving this lip combo. The lip pencil goes on very smooth, and the lipstick has a gorgeous matte finish and stay all day on the lips.

Crazy about NYX

DSC_8965

I’ve been going a bit NYX crazy lately (I’ve also bought a few more NYX lippies since I took these pictures), but I think NYX is such a nice affordable brand and it recently made it’s way to a couple of Danish drugstores around the country, so I had to take advantage of that. Here’s what I’ve purchased:

DSC_8929DSC_8930

First off I purchased the Hightlight & Contour Pro Palette which I had been wanting to try for a while. I think I’ve worn at least one of the shades everyday since I bought it, and I have to say that I really like this palette. My favourite of the highlight shades is Cream which is the yellow shade, and my favourite of the contour shades is Sculpt which is the one right below Cream. If you’re looking for an affordable highlight/contour palette I would definitely recommend this one.

Mascara is one of the few products where I rarely ever experiment and try out new products, but I’ve always liked the idea of a coloured mascara and NYX has some really pretty colours to choose from. I picked the blue one, because it was the least out there colour, and I’m really impressed by this product. I didn’t expect for it to be as pigmented as it is, and is doesn’t flake and holds the curl all day long. I would love to try out some of the other colours as well.

I purchased one of the butter glosses. I had one of these already before I purchased this one, so I knew I liked the formula. This one is in the shade Tiramisu and it’s a very nice neutral colour that works on top of a lot of different neutral lip colours.

The soft matte lip cream is a product I’ve been wanting to try for a really long time as well. I purchased three shades (from the left); Antwerp, Cannes, and Transylvania. I like the mousse-like formula and the completely matte finish, and they don’t feel too drying on the lips. The two lighter shades are really opaque and even on the lips, whereas the dark shade is a bit more patchy and needed to be built up with a couple of layers. All shades are gorgeous though, and I would love to get my hands on more of these.

When I saw that the Liquid Suede cream lipsticks came in some fun and different colours, I had to try out a couple of them. I chose the shades Amethyst and Stone Fox. I haven’t worn Amethyst (the purple one) yet, but I really like the Stone Fox shade which is a dark blueish grey. It’s really pigmented and such a cool colour. I would love to get some more colours from this lipstick line as well. The next two pictures shows swatches of the lip products in the order I’ve mentioned them. The first pictures is without flash; the second is with flash.

Pretty cranberry

DSC_8838

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’ve for sure worn a make-up look similar to this before, and I think it’s so pretty. That MAC Cranberry eye shadow is one of the prettiest eye shadow colours I’ve ever seen, and I really should wear it more often.

Deep matte reds

I little while ago I was happy to find that the Danish drugstores had started carrying matte ColorSensational lipsticks from Maybelline. I decided to purchase these two gorgeous red shades; 970 Daring Ruby and 975 Divine Wine. I’ve only worn the Daring Ruby shade so far, and I loved it. The formula of these lipsticks is great; the pigmentation is amazing, it’s not drying on the lips, and it’s long lasting. I would love to see this lipstick range expand with some more colours.

Minimal eye make-up

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Every now and again I like to wear minimal eye make-up and a bright lip.

Too orange?

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I’m not really sure if this orange lipstick suits me. I think I might be a bit too pale to pull it off, but I love the colour, so I’ll continue to wear it anyways.

Yellow gold

Here’s the make-up I wore Thursday March 3. It was my first time playing around with my the Balm Nude’tude eye shadow palette. I was attracted to the very yellow gold colour (Snobby), and I really like how it looks paired with some of the brown shades in the palette.

Urban Decay Gwen Stefani

DSC_8773DSC_8778DSC_8781

In the beginning of March a Danish department store had a 20 % off sale, so I decided to purchase my first Urban Decay products. Everything from the Gwen Stefani line looked gorgeous, but I went with one of the red lipsticks and the matching lip pencil. The shade of both products is 714, and it’s the only matte lipstick in the collection. I actually think the finish was called Mega Matte which I find quite fitting. The finish reminds me a bit of the Retro Matte finish from MAC. The lip pencil is a bit darker than the lipstick, but they look beautiful together nonetheless.

Dark eyes, nude lips

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. For once I went with a dark eye/nude lip combo. It’s still not my favourite look, but I do like it.
