Makeout break

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. Of course, I had to match my make-up to my outfit and went for lilac and green on my eyes. I decided to pair the colourful eye look with a nude lip, which is actually called Makeout Break; how fitting for a date night;)

First impressions: Essence Lash Princess mascaras

I’ve been trying out two Essence Lash Princess mascaras, the False Lash Effect and the Curl & Volume, so I thought I would combine my first impressions on both mascaras in one post.

Let’s start with the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara. I’ve already featured this one in a 5 favourites post, which obviously means that I like it. But here are some more details about this mascara.

It has a cone shaped bristle brush/wand which I love. It my lashes look long and voluminous, and I would definitely say that the mascara holds it’s claim of giving a false lash effect. I wore two coats on my top lashes, and I think my lashes look really good. I used a spooly to remove the mascara marks on my eyelids and underneath my eyes (there were very few though), and they was very easy to remove. I discovered very little transfer to the top of my eyelids (and only after many hours of wear), however, the older the formula gets the more it transfers (I’ve been wearing this mascara a lot since I wrote down my first impressions). I removed it with regular eye make-up remover which took a little bit of work, but nothing to bad and I don’t really care because it’s such a great mascara + it’s so affordable!

And now moving on to the Essence Lash Princess Curl & Volume mascara.

This mascara has an hourglass shaped bristle brush/wand, which is not my favourite type of mascara wand (because it’s thick at the end/tip). My lashes are naturally curled, so it’s difficult to say, if they look more curled with this mascara on (I don’t think they do). I wore two coats on my top lashes, and you need that second coat to get the volume that it claims to give, but then you definitely do get volume, and I do think my lashes look really good. I used a spooly to remove the mascara marks on my eyelids and underneath my eyes, and it was fairly easy. There was very little transfer to the top of my eyelids, though nothing major. I removed it with regular eye make-up remover, and it was fairly easy to remove (probably a little easier than the False Lash Effect mascara). My lashes looked good all day, and overall I really like this mascara, however, I think I prefer the False Lash Effect one a little bit more.

Chandler and Joey

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I used both the Revolution x Friends Chandler palette and Joey palette to create this eye look, and I think it turned out so pretty. The Joey palette is my absolute favourite though, and my favourite shade is the shimmery pink with a gold shift called Dr. Drake.

Zalando haul – clothes, accessories, beauty

I have a Zalando haul to share with you today. It’s a mix of clothes, accessories, and beauty products. Let’s start with the clothes.

I got three pieces of clothing, and all three pieces are from Monki. I thought the white button up blouse with the floral embroidery was very pretty, and I’ve actually worn it with the lilac wide leg jeans. I wore the denim shorts on my summer holiday in July when the weather was hot.

I purchased two accessories. The green snake print bag is also from Monki, and the white belt is from Tamaris. I hadn’t had a white belt for a while, and I missed having a white belt, so I picked this one up, and I really like it.

And now on to the beauty products. I picked up a The Balm Bronzilla bronzer, two MAC Black Cherry Extra Dimension blushes in the shades Dilly-Dolly and Under My Plum, a L’Oréal Lash Paradise mascara in Moonlight Noir, two Maybelline Colour Sensational Ultimatte lipsticks in the shades More Scarlet + More Rust, and a Maybelline Lifter Gloss in the shade 8 Stone.

Here’s a closer look at the bronzer and blushers. I love the MAC Extra Dimension formula, and these blushers are so stunning. I’m especially obsessed with the light pink shade with a gold shift called Dilly-Dolly.

I also picked up a NYX The Marshmellow primer set including a full size primer, a travel size primer, and a sponge. I love the primer, but I haven’t tried the sponge yet. It sure is cute though.

Golden toffee

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the Huda Beauty Brown Obsessions Toffee palette for the first time, and I love how the eye look turned out; the shimmers are so intense and beautiful. I love the golden yellow nude lipstick as well; it goes perfectly with the eye look.

Collective beauty haul – palettes, cheeks and lips

I have a collective beauty haul to share with you today. It consists of palettes, cheek and lip products. Let’s start with the palettes.

I’ve purchased two more Natasha Denona palettes. I’m probably the most excited about the Zendo palette, which I purchased right when it launched. I’ve actually already featured it in a favourites post, which shows how much I like this palette. I just love the mix of colourful shades and neutrals.

The other ND palette that I purchased in late spring/early summer was the Triochrome palette. This is one of the bigger palettes, and it’s therefore more expensive, but one day I found it 40% off on sale, so I had to pick it up. The colour story is very interesting, and I’m excited to create more looks with it.

The last palette in this haul is the Huda Beauty Brown Obsessions Toffee palette. I really enjoy the Huda Beauty Obsessions palettes, and this is my kind of neutral palette. I love the looks I’ve created with this palette so far.

Now, let’s talk cheeks. I picked up two blushers and one highlighter.

I’ve been loving blusher lately; even more than I already did. So I’ve been trying to add blushers that I didn’t already own to my collection these past few month. That’s why I was attracted to both the KVD Vegan Beauty Everlasting blush in Poppy and the Nyx Sweet Cheeks matte creamy powder blush in Red Riot. They’re such fun colours.

Since Becca is going out of business, I thought I would finally pick up the Shimmering Skin Perfector pressed highlighter in Pearl. It was on sale, and I’ve been wanting this highlighter for a long time, so I’m glad that it’s finally a part of my highlighter collection.

Lastly, I picked up three lip products; a sheer lipstick, a metallic lipstick, and a liquid lipstick.

The sheer lipstick is the Fenty Beauty Slip Shine Sheer Shiny lipstick in Makeout Break. It’s such a pretty, comfortable nude lipstick, and the packaging is really pretty too.

The metallic lipstick is the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Singe, which is a metallic red. I got this one on sale, and I think it’ll be great for wearing around Christmas time.

I also picked up another NYX Shine Loud High Pigment Lip Shine. This is in the shade Ambition Statement, and it’s a very pretty terracotta nude.

Matte + glossy

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. It’s not often I wear an all matte eye look, but that’s what I decided to go for here. I paired it with a glossy lip, so my look wouldn’t be too matte.

(Base: primer – Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive primer, foundation – Maybelline Dream Urban Cover foundation (shade: 100 Warm Ivory), concealers – L’Oréal Infaillible More Than Concealer (shade: 322 Ivory) + Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive concealer (shade: 05 Fair), powders – Essence Brighten Up! Banana powder in 10 Bababanana + Essence Skin Lovin’ Sensitive mineral powder (shade: 01 Translucent). Face make-up: bronzer – Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil bronzer, blusher – MAC You’ve Got Me Feeling powder blush, highlighter – Natasha Denona Love Glow Cheek palette (shade: Diamond Powder). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – Sample Beauty The Painter’s palette (shades: Canvas + Pop + Micky + Bon Bon + Florist + Gemini), mascara – Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High mascara, eyeliner – NYX Faux Whites eyeliner in Lavender Blush. Eyebrows: Essence #pinkandproud Strong soapy brow styler (01 Stronger Than Yesterday!). Lips: MAC Shock Value Pro Longwear lip pencil + Revolution x Friends Ross lipgloss)

Colour me impressed

Here’s the make-up I wore with this outfit. I wore the BH Cosmetics Remix Dance 00’s eyeshadow palette on my eyes for the first time, and I love how the look turned out. BH Cosmetics continue to impress me with their eyeshadow formulas.

(Base: primers – Essence Prime+ Studio Poreless + Skin Blurring putty primer + Essence Crystal Dreams luminizer (shade: 01 Frozen Shine), foundation – Maybelline Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation (shade: 110 Porcelain), concealers – e.l.f. 16HR Camo matte concealers (shades: Light Sand + Fair Warm), powders – Jeffree Star Magic Star Setting Powder in Lavender + e.l.f Sheer Tint finishing powder in Fair/Light. Face make-up: bronzer/contour – Natasha Denona Contour Sculpting Powder in 01 Light, blusher – MAC Glow Play blush in Totally Synced, highlighter – BH Cosmetics Frosé highlighter palette (shades: Bubbly + Purée). Eye make-up: base – MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterly, eyeshadows – BH Cosmetics Remix Dance 00’s eyeshadow palette (shades: Hey Ya + Crazy In Love + Milkshake + Single Lady + Teen Dream + Twerk), mascara – Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara, eyeliner – NYX Slim eye pencil in Lavender Shimmer.
